Which CMS software does the NASA website use
As a curious web user I often question what software the world leading website use so that they get the best looking and best maintained websites. What I was expecting was that these companies, companies such as NASA use very complex software to develop and maintain their Contents.
But once I did the survey to my surprise, the software that these websites use is the one that is very common and better yet its available for free. I am sure that most of the web developers by now must have understood what I am talking about here. For those of you who havent I am talking about Drupal.
Drupal is an open source website that is used by people or web developers for content management of their website. People modify this website according to their use. This modification process in the beginning is not a very easy task. It takes a Drupal expert to make sure that you integrate your website with the software but once you do that the maintenance part is simple.
The programming language of Drupal is PHP while the database language is SQL. Now I am not saying that the modified drupal version that NASA uses is simple, what I was amazed to see was that such complex software was developed from such simple software. Therefore the point of writing this article was that if you are planning to make a good website, start from the basics and then modify it to get the best results.
